The Big Rock
Here is a series of imagery and designs that represent a specific location. I hoped to bring to mind thoughts of a special destination, drawing in a younger audience. This location brings to my mind play, imagination, and appreciation for going outside, which I worked to impart through my designs.

The Big Rock is a piece of branding I created inspired by a place on a creek I grew up playing in. I wanted to draw in other young children with branding surrounding a location not necessarily marked on a map, but one of sentimental significance. I designed this identity with a younger, outdoor-adventure-seeking audience in mind.
The watercolor style I chose for the illustrations helps to pull out some of that more youthful feel, while the typefaces I chose complement each other with the header calling to mind a child’s handwriting.
I hoped to encourage a sense of adventure and play, with map details, and a scavenger hunt inspired design.
